SQUARE+ROUND Wash Basin

SQUARE+ROUND Wash Basin and Garden Basin are individually hand crafted
from the base structure by the designer in an art studio in Sydney. 
The unique polka-dot motifs are created with penny tiles which are set by hand for one of a kind design.

Creative process of each basin starts with hand crafting a base, ensuring waterproofing and durable quality, utilizing sands from Sydney’s Bondi Beach. 

The tiles are produced by artisans from traditional tile making region of Tajimi in Japan.

どこにもないオリジナルな感覚を味わえるクラフトのシンク「SQUARE+ROUND Wash Basin」と「Garden Basin」。作品の大きな特徴であるポルカドットの水玉模様は、1つひとつの小さなタイルが手作業により取り付けられ完成したもの。

クラフトの魅力はさることながら、ウォータープルーフ、強い耐久性といった特徴も併せ持つ。

そして、これらの作品にはある「土地の物語性」も。シドニーのボンダイビーチの砂が使われているだけでなく、使用されているタイルは岐阜県多治見市で作られた伝統的な物となっている。日本と海外の土地の物語、伝統とモダンの共存、クラフトならではの生活感を楽しんでみては。
